Troubleshooting & FAQ
Frequently Asked Questionsβ
Can I show the same calendar on multiple Confluence pages?β
No. Each Event Planner macro instance stores its own independent calendar. Events created on one page are not visible on another page, even if both pages contain an Event Planner macro.
Workaround: Create a dedicated "team calendar" Confluence page and link to it from other pages rather than duplicating events manually.
How do I export my calendar events?β
The export option is located inside the macro or panel Settings β it is not visible on the main calendar toolbar.
- Open the Settings of the Event Planner macro, Issue Panel, or Dashboard Gadget.
- Click the Export icon inside the settings panel.
- Choose ICS (for calendar apps) or CSV (for spreadsheets).

Does Event Planner support recurring events?β
Not currently. Recurring events are planned for a future release. At this time, each occurrence must be created individually.
Is Event Planner available for Jira or Confluence Data Center / Server?β
No. Both apps are available for Atlassian Cloud only.
What is the difference between the Issue Panel and the Dashboard Gadget in the Jira version?β
They are two independent calendars:
- Issue Panel: Attached to a single Jira issue. Events are scoped to that issue only and are deleted if the issue is deleted.
- Dashboard Gadget: A standalone calendar on a Jira Dashboard. Its events are not connected to any issue.
There is no way to aggregate events from multiple issue panels into a single view.
Who can delete events created by other users?β
Any user with page edit permission (Confluence) or work item edit permission (Jira) can create, edit, and delete any event on that calendar β regardless of who originally created it. There is no per-event ownership.

The Event Planner panel does not appear on a Jira issueβ

- The app is not installed or not enabled.
- The Issue Panel has not been enabled for the project.
Steps to resolve:
- Go to Jira Administration β Manage apps.
- Search for Event Planner for Jira.
- Confirm the app status is Enabled.
- If the app is enabled but the panel is missing only in certain projects, check the project-level panel configuration.
I cannot create, edit, or delete an eventβ
Cause: You do not have the required edit permission.
- Confluence: You need page edit permission on the page containing the macro.
- Jira: You need work item edit permission on the issue containing the panel.
Contact your Confluence Space or Jira Project administrator to request edit access.
An event I did not delete is goneβ
All users with edit permission on the page or issue can create, edit, and delete any event on that calendar. An event may have been deleted by another user with edit access.
If this is a recurring problem, review which users have edit permissions on the affected page or issue.
