Lock a calendar

Lock a calendar when planning is done, so nobody changes events by accident. Anyone who can edit the calendar can unlock it again.

The lock is available on Confluence page calendars and on Jira work item and dashboard calendars. Space calendars use access restrictions instead.

Before you begin

You need permission to edit the calendar.

Lock the calendar

  1. Select More actions (β€’β€’β€’) > Lock calendar.
  2. In Lock this calendar?, select Lock calendar.

Result: The header shows a Locked label, and New event disappears. Nobody can change events or day headers until someone unlocks the calendar. Opening events, switching views and exporting still work for everyone.

Unlock the calendar

Select More actions (β€’β€’β€’) > Unlock calendar. Unlocking doesn't ask for confirmation.

The lock and permissions

The lock is a safeguard, not a permission: everyone who can edit the calendar can unlock it. To keep people from changing a calendar for good, take away their edit permission instead. See Permissions.
