I can't edit a diagram

Symptom​

When you hover over a diagram, there's no Edit diagram button. Or the editor opens but shows License Required, or saving fails with "This feature requires a valid license."

You don't have edit permission​

Cause: Only people who can edit the Confluence page, or who have the Edit work items permission in the Jira space, can change its diagrams. For Mermaid code blocks in Jira comments, you need Edit own comments or Edit all comments.

Solution: Ask the page owner or your Jira admin for the permission. See Permissions.

The license isn't active​

Cause: The app's license or trial has ended. Diagrams still show, but nobody can edit them.

Solution: Ask your site admin to renew the license for the app in Confluence or Jira. See Licensing.

You're signed out or viewing anonymously​

Cause: Anonymous visitors can view diagrams on public pages but can't edit them.

Solution: Sign in to Confluence and reload the page.
