Diagrams don't show in Safari or an older browser

Symptom​

Diagrams don't appear, or stay loading, for some people, while others see them. It often happens on older iPhones, iPads or Macs.

Cause​

Mermaid 12 needs a current browser. Safari older than 17.4, and Chrome, Edge or Firefox from before 2024, can't draw diagrams.

Solution​

  1. Update the browser: Safari 17.4 or later (iOS 17.4 or later on iPhone and iPad), or a current Chrome, Edge or Firefox.
  2. Reload the page.

If the device can't be updated, open the page in another browser or device.
