A section doesn't appear on a shared link
Symptomβ
You switched on a section, such as Comments, Attachments or Child work items, but viewers don't see it.
Find the causeβ
- Open the share window and select Preview as viewer.
- If the preview shows the section with Nothing here yet, go to the first cause below.
- If the preview shows the section with content, go to the second cause below.
- If the section is missing from the preview too, go to the third cause below.
The section is emptyβ
Cause: Viewers see a section only when it has content. The number next to each section in the share window, for example Comments (0), shows how much it holds.
Solution: Nothing to fix. The section appears as soon as there is content in it.
The changes weren't savedβ
Cause: The preview shows your current settings, including unsaved ones. The link shows what was last saved.
Solution:
- Select Save changes in the share window.
- Ask the viewer to reload the page. The link always shows the latest saved settings.
Some content is never sharedβ
Cause: Some content stays out of every shared link:
- Internal comments in service spaces, and comments or work log entries restricted to a role or group.
- On a board link, child work items that aren't on the same board.
- Linked and child work items in spaces your Jira admin doesn't allow to be shared.
Solution: When content is held back, the share window shows a warning next to the section, and the tab carries an amber dot. To share the content, change its visibility in Jira, or ask a Jira admin to allow the space. See Sharing policy settings.
