What's new

This page lists what changed in each major version of FieldCraft: Custom fields for Jira, newest first.

Version 6 (April 2026)​

  • Paid app with a free tier. Teams of up to 10 users keep using FieldCraft for free. See Pricing.
  • New T-Shirt Size field. An editable field for quick effort estimates with sizes from XXS to XXL. Admins choose the allowed sizes, the color and the style for each field context. The field works on the work item view, create and transition screens, and the customer portal. See T-Shirt Size.
  • Clear a T-Shirt Size. A reset action removes the selected size from a work item.
  • Reindex keeps manual values. Reindexing recalculates the calculated fields and leaves T-Shirt Size values that people set by hand untouched.
  • Updates and fixes. New fixes and updates are released for this version only.

Version 5 (February 2025)​

  • New Jira Expressions - Text field. Calculate a field value with a Jira expression, written in a code editor with ready-made snippets. See Jira Expressions - Text.
  • Reworked reindex. Recalculates field values for all work items that match a JQL query, with progress and logs. See Reindexing.
  • Jira's new search API. Reindex uses Jira's current search endpoint. Version 4 still calls the endpoint that Atlassian is retiring.
  • Better work item picker. When you test a field context on a work item, you can search for the work item instead of typing its key.
  • Configure from Manage apps. The Configure button in Manage apps opens the FieldCraft settings.
  • Work calendar fixes. Time in Status counts days and weeks according to the work calendar, and a calendar can no longer be saved with an empty start or end time.
  • Values for every user. Fields calculate correctly for people who aren't Jira admins, because the field context settings are read by the app itself.

Version 4 (July 2024)​

  • Calculated fields: Transitions Count, Time in Status, First/Last Field Change Time, Parent Field Value, Modified By and Calculated Metrics.
  • Work calendars for Time in Status.
  • Reindex of existing work items.
