How to update to the latest version
Why you're hereβ
Your site runs an older version of FieldCraft: version 4 or version 5. It keeps working, and nothing is switched off. The latest version is where fixes and updates are released. See What's new.
Updating needs a Jira admin, because Atlassian asks an admin to approve every major app update. Forge does not send admins a notification for this, so the update often goes unnoticed.
Pricingβ
The latest version of FieldCraft is a paid app:
- Teams of up to 10 users can keep using it for free.
- Larger teams pay per user through the Atlassian Marketplace. The price is shown in Manage apps before you confirm.
- Atlassian does not include a trial when an app moves from a free version to a paid one, so the subscription starts when you update.
Read more about why we moved to a paid model: Learn about the paid version.
Your data is safeβ
Updating in place keeps all your FieldCraft fields, their field context settings and your work calendars. Fields keep their IDs, so filters, dashboards and screens that use them keep working. The latest version reads the same data as your current one, so nothing needs to be exported or re-created.
How to updateβ
- Sign in as a Jira admin.
- Go to Settings (β) β Apps β Manage apps.
- Find FieldCraft: Custom fields in the list of user-installed apps.
- Click Update and review the changes.
- Confirm the update.
After the update, open a work item with FieldCraft fields and check that they show the same values as before. If some values look outdated, run a reindex.
Not an admin?β
Ask your Jira admin to update FieldCraft. Send them a link to this page. Only Jira admins see the update notice in FieldCraft.
